4. NOTES AND INTERACTIVE LEARNING TOOLS
What does one note generally represent?
One note represents the amount of material that would cover one test. This could be one or multiple pages in a notebook. The amount is different based on the subject, teacher or the author of the notes.
What are my options for creating interactive learning tools?
There are 3 ways:
- Manually write the text or copy and paste it into the editor for note creation
- Take a photo of a notebook or any other notes or text.
- Upload a document or image with your contents.
What formats do we support?
The uploaded files can be in the following formats: DOCX, PDF, PNG, JPEG or JPG.
Most recommended is DOCX, since unlike when uploading PDF, DOCX will carry over sections and images in the document. In case the document contains images, we currently only support DOCX. In the case of PDF, we are currently unable to process them, as for titles, there is a much smaller chance of titles converting into sections properly. We are currently also working on this feature.
Is there a restriction regarding note length?
Currently the limit is about 20 size A4 pages (approximately between 10.000 and 15.000 words).
Is there a file size limit, that I can upload to the application?
Currently the file limit is 100 MB per note. So you can upload one big file or multiple small ones totaling 100MB.
Will the TSW app convert notes written by handwriting?
Of course. The quality of conversion depends on the quality of handwriting though. If you can’t read the notes you wrote, then we can’t create miracles either ;) It is also important that when taking the picture, the paper is as straight as possible, otherwise lines could get mixed up.
How long does it take for my notes to convert to Q&A?
Note conversion lasts 15 minutes, but you can make it faster with the use of Smart Points.
After conversion, can I edit the generated questions and answers?
Yes, you can edit and remove the generated questions and answers, or add your own. When editing a question, you can also see below from which part of the text the edited question originated.
Does the app support the conversion of notes in a foreign language?
Conversion is not dependent on language per se. So you can upload notes in any language, but there are chances that you might not get the perfect result. We are still testing this functionality.
Can I upload notes that contain tables, formulas and graphs?
Yes, but the conversion will be lower quality. We are currently working on improving this aspect with additional settings of the AI model. The current solution would be to take a picture of the graph or table and insert the image into the document, or insert the image into the application editor from a computer or phone.
Can I copy and paste images?
If you copy text that contains an image, the image will currently be filtered due to security issues. It is possible to download the image and insert it manually into the online note editor at the proper position though.
How do I correctly insert the image?
You can insert images by clicking on the “Insert image” button in the online editor and then place it to where it belongs in the note. The other option of inserting images is uploading a DOCX document. Images that are a part of a DOCX document will automatically insert themselves into the note when uploading. You can check over the contents in the second step of note creation. Currently we do not support inserting images from a document that is of PDF format.
The note is created, where are my images?
The note is created, you have questions, answers and Smart Cards, but the inserted images are nowhere to be found. You can find them by going to Smart Cards and in the upper right corner click on the three dots. When the menu opens, click on the “Add image” button. A dialog opens, where you can upload a new image or choose one of the recommended images. Recommended images are the images that you uploaded while creating the note.
Why do I have to manually place images to their correct spots again?
When creating a note, AI takes all of the content, separates it and creates questions and answers out of the created chunks. Which means that AI does not know to which question and answers the placed image is most appropriate. Basically AI can’t tell if you placed the corresponding image to the bottom or the top of the relevant content. Additionally one image can belong and supplement multiple questions and answers etc. So the images get uploaded and show up as recommended images when you try to add images to a Smart Card, but to get the best quality Smart Cards it is recommended to again add images to the relevant questions or to where you feel like will help you most.
Why can't I use Speed Learning game on all of my notes?
Speed learning currently supports only notes that were created after the release of the Speed learning game. We are currently working on the ability to be able to use this functionality on older notes as well.
